Mixed Plasticard Plates – Green Stuff World
ABS plastic plates (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) known as Plasticard. Plasticard the generic term refers to a kind of plastic widely used in modeling. ABS plastic is used to make parts for your kits, bases, etc.
This plastic has very interesting physical properties for modeling, because despite their strength, and durability it is very easy to work with. You can buy sheet material of different thicknesses, smooth or textured, as well as profiles with very different shape. The perfect adhesive for ABS plastic is cyanoacrylate glue. White glue (PVA type) can also be used, but it takes much longer to dry.
Plasticard made of ABS also has thermoplastic properties, which can change its shape with different heat sources.

PoHow to cut Mixed Plasticard sheets:
Up to say 0,16 – 1mm a good pair of scissors and sufficient. Above and up to 1 mm a good cutter will do the trick, above this several passes with a cutter or a zinc worker's claw, then “break” the plate by bending it on a “sharp” edge. A scroll saw and/or hacksaw can also be used, leaving a little “fat” and finishing by sanding.
It can be cut with a very sharp machine, but can also be milled or cut mechanically or with a very high pressure water jet. Let's also say that it engraves with a hard tip and sands easily. We can bend it and we can also thermoform it.
