A musume (pronounced "mousmé") is a girl or young woman of Japanese origin.
This term is derived from the Japanese word "musume" meaning "daughter", in the sense of parentage.
All musmé models, like Gunpla, are characterised by two essential properties which differentiate them from more traditional models:
- The parts are interlocking, without gluing
- they are moulded in colour.
These are so-called "snap-fit" models, where the parts are constructed by clipping them together.
